Maxim’s de Paris

In the heart of Paris, close to Place de la Concorde, stands out ‘’Chez Maxim’s’’, a symbol of Art Nouveau and the excellence of French cuisine.

Founded in 1893, it quickly became the place to see and be seen for Parisian artists, intellectuals and aristocrats of the Belle Époque.

Adapting to the changing times, Chez Maxim’s was the first venue to offer musical entertainment during dinners and throughout the twentieth century the halls of this Art Nouveau gem have witnessed the changing influence of the various actors of the international upper class. From high aristocracy and generals to bankers and financiers, from entrepeneurs and politicians, to philosophers, actors and artists, the elite of international jet set has always been a guest of this landmark to the art of savoir vivre.

Recognized as National Monument in 1979, two years later the property passed into the hands of the stylist Pierre Cardin, who was an accustomed since the beginning of his carreer and without changing the essence of the venue, but enriching it with the creation of an Art Nouveau museum on the upper floors, he developed the mark “Maxim’s” into an international brand, symbol of elegance and savoir-vivre.

The Maxim’s brand has also an online shop and is now distributed worldwide in more than 50 countries. With several hundred distributors in France, Maxim’s is very popular with Japanese, Chinese, American and Russian cunsomers as well.
